Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutation)

 Sun Salutation

Sun salutation is one of the most know sequences in yoga. Originally practiced in the morning in order to honor the sun, it is also used as a warm-up routine before more complex and advanced postures.

Depending on the style of yoga, she has 8 to 12 postures.

It should me done about 15-20 minutes a day or at least repeated 10 times on each side.

You can read more about the mantra accompanying this prayer to the sun (MANTRAS SECTION): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Surya_Namaskār#Mantras

Reminder Chakra Board

In the last two issues, I explored the world of chakras, and thus at the spiritual and physical level. Here, I am coming back with a summary table which could eventually help as a quick reference guide.

I also added a “If imbalanced” section so that it can help you to maybe understand some disparity in your life. We all experience some at some point and these fluctuations vary depending of our life’s seasons. IMPORTANT: this does not replace any professional or medical advice, but is more of a wonderful complimentary tool.

I suggest also some yoga postures in sanskrit (look them up on internet) and associated Bija mantras. “Bija” means “seed” as in “the source”. These mantras are considered like vibrations of the creative consciousness, the source…like OM.

Though base on my general knowledge, here are some of my general ressources guides, what I call my “bible” sites: https://www.guidedeschakras.com | https://www.yogajournal.com | https://www.yogapedia.com | https://chopra.com

Chakras and their colors

CHAKRAS & COLORS

In yoga, we often talk about chakras and often simply by offering a little information here and there.

In the past few months, I invited you to discover a little bit more the different aspects of this energetic spectrum, which is not only important in our yoga practice but often used in different oriental disciplines such as Tai chi, Qigong, alternative medicines, etc.

We all possess 7 chakras, situated along the spine, managing the flow of prana (vital energy) through our different bodies (physical , emotional and energetic).

These energetic vortexes are often illustrated under the shape of circles or flowers and thus with different associated colors.

Each chakra vibrates under its specific color and spiritual quality.
